We continue to welcome clients to Kinson and West Howe foodbank during the current lockdown. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have been working in different ways. Firstly, we are no longer using the reception area in the church centre when receiving clients. Instead we are using the church building. This has a warm and inviting atmosphere and allows everybody to socially distance more easily. Unfortunately we can’t currently offer a hot drinks and biscuits (or cake!).
Our second change involves the issuing of vouchers. Most voucher issuers have now transitioned to the electronic “E voucher” system. This is easier for everyone as the client no longer has to visit the issuer because voucher code numbers can be given by text message or over the phone.
So, despite restrictions, we continue to operate and if you need our help please get a voucher and visit us. We are currently open on Wednesday and Friday afternoons between 12 and 4 o’clock.
