During mid-July Kinson and West Howe Foodbank held their summer collection in conjunction with Tesco Kinson. Once again Tesco generously allowed us to use their foyer to both greet customers on entry and accept their products on exit.
Our collection this time was a little different from usual as we were not able to hand out “shopping lists” due to covid restrictions. However, we informed customers of our current needs and many customers managed to buy what we needed.
Our stand during this collection was manned by both regular Foodbank volunteers and additionally members of the North Bournemouth Rotary Club to whom we are very grateful.
Once again, our expectations were exceeded by the local community’s generosity and we collected a total of 1,317kg over the three days. Many thanks to the staff of Tesco’s Kinson, all our volunteers and above all to the customers who donated.
